Avoncroft Museum Wedding | Chantelle & Tom

I’d been looking forward to Chantelle and Tom’s wedding for what seemed like an incredibly long time. After our initial meeting and e-shoot I have to say that I was disappointed that I’d have to wait a whole year before it came around. It’s just that I knew their day would be pretty special. After we’d first met we’d stayed in touch via Facebook and it was lovely to see the messages they would regularly post to each other – clearly a couple madly deeply in love. So I just knew their wedding day would be one filled with love and warmth too – and it was.

After I’d finished photographing the bridal preparations at their home, I headed over to the Avoncroft Museum of Historic buildings in Worcestershire for the ceremony and reception.  It’s a lovely venue for a wedding, with so many different and interesting buildings that have been rescued and rebuilt on site. The ceremony itself took place under Worcester Cathedrals 14th Century roof and high tea was enjoyed afterwards in the edwardian tea room – where better! I am rather fond of a good cuppa! I have to say that I loved the idea of having an afternoon tea instead of a heavy wedding breakfast and it really fitted well with the summery afternoon feeling that everyone enjoyed. I also love the fact that even the kids orange juice was served from an orange teapot!

After some emotional and amusing speeches, we took advantage of the old threshing barn and windmill as a setting for some portraits. The day was then finished off in true style as Tom donned his bass guitar to entertain his guests!!! And he well and truly rocked! It was a brilliant end to an awesome day. It’s times like these that I feel incredibly lucky that I get to do this ‘job’ and be around such wonderful people on such an important day in their lives. It really is something special. Chantelle & Tom, thank you so much.
