“Hi Alex, we are really happy with the pictures – we both absolutely love them! Everyone we’ve sent the link to has said how amazing they are as well. Thanks so much for all your hard work! You really captured everything perfectly.”

On Easter bank holiday weekend, I travelled up the M6 to Greater Manchester and Hyde Bank Farm, where Janine and Nick would be getting married later that day. We’d already chatted via skype in the run up to the wedding so I knew it would be a day spent with two fun people …and it was!

On to the wedding day! It makes me smirk to think that because we men are only ever likely to wear a cravat perhaps just for one day throughout our entire life, we really have little idea of how to tie one!!! On several occasions the internet has come to the rescue on the morning of a wedding I’ve been photographing and this morning found the men huddled around a computer screen once more! Thank goodness for google! It made for a bit of amusement and a few fun pictures.

As you’ll see from the photos, it was a glorious day enjoyed by everyone and I had a lot of fun photographing the goings on too. It might sound a bit cheesy, but I really don’t think I could ever get tired of being around happy people on one of the happiest days of their lives – and I feel so lucky that I get to do that week in week out.

The ceremony and reception room looked fantastic and full of character, with it’s stonework walls and rustic wooden beams – which I remember Janine telling me was the reason they booked Hyde bank as their venue. Carla from ‘the classy room company’ dressed the room brilliantly and the flowers in china looked wonderful too thanks to Libby from ‘flowers by strawberry fields’. I especially liked the little nod towards it being easter as well, with the chocolate egg favours!

As much as I’d been enjoying the day, I’d been looking forward to seeing Nicks famous ‘Carlton’ dance all day long and it didn’t disappoint! When that Tom Jones track came on, the magic happened!! If you ever watched the Fresh Prince of Bell-Air you’ll know what I’m taking about! Brilliant!

A huge thank you goes out to Janine and Nick for allowing me to be your Hyde Bank Farm Wedding Photographer, I felt privileged to be there on your day. Enjoy the photographs.
