Five years after taking my first ever wedding photos at a friends wedding I\u2019m posting my first ever \u2018best of\u2019 review! It\u2019s a pretty big moment for me as during the whirlwind of the last three years of shooting full time, it\u2019s the first occasion I&#8217;ve actually stopped to gather my breath and look\u00a0back on where I&#8217;ve been. It\u2019s a tricky task, trying to pick out a tiny percentage of photos to summarise the last twelve months, but as I\u2019ve done so I\u2019m filled with gratitude as I reflect on all of the amazing couples who\u2019ve invited me to photograph one of the most important and memorable days of their lives. It\u2019s something I never take lightly and is incredibly humbling. Thanks to each and every one of you. I feel truly blessed.<\/p>\n<p>All I\u2019ve ever really set out to do in this business was try and make people happy, so it meant the world to finish off the year by\u00a0receiving an award\u00a0where wedding\u00a0couples (the people that really matter)\u00a0do the voting. What&#8217;s more, winning this award\u00a0in 2016 meant that\u00a0I&#8217;d actually picked up the title of\u00a0&#8216;West Midlands Wedding Photographer of the Year&#8217; in The Wedding Industry Awards for the third year running!! \u00a0A hat trick! Totally and utterly insane\u00a0and\u00a0I still can\u2019t quite believe it! A massive, massive thanks to all my couples for taking the time to vote for me &#8211; I love you all!\u00a0I can\u2019t wait to read all of your comments as soon as they\u2019re released (honestly, it&#8217;s the best bit of the process!)<\/p>\n<p>Also, a big shout out to the person who nominated me for Rangefinder\u2019s 30 rising Stars of wedding photography 2017. It\u2019s an absolute honour to have been considered for such a prestigious award but\u00a0to have been nominated by an industry peer who\u2019s work I have have the utmost admiration and respect for is the biggest compliment I could ever have hoped to receive! Thank you! You know who you are!<\/p>\n<p>But as lovely\u00a0as awards are, as I step back and look at the photos I\u2019ve chosen for this post, it\u2019s re-affirmed what really matters to me and the reason I love weddings. People. You can be a crazy bunch at times but quite honestly I\u00a0wouldn&#8217;t want it any other way!! I\u2019ve loved the moments I\u2019ve been able to share with you, not just the the craziness, but the laughter, the nerves, tears, excitement and everything else that goes into a wedding day &#8211; it really has been a fantastic journey and I can\u2019t thank you enough for bringing me along on it!
