Whether you\u2019re getting married in summer or winter, or if the wedding day is rainy or sunny, you\u2019ll always have the best day of your life here! Ettington Park has superb ample grounds with two outdoor ceremony locations and several beautiful indoor spaces to use throughout the day. I\u2019ll touch on those later! So whatever time of year it is, your wedding will be just perfect and there\u2019ll always be ample opportunity to create beautiful wedding photographs at this stunning venue. It deserves every one of it\u2019s four red star hotel rating.<\/span><\/p>\n

Firstly, I’d like to just say that I’m in no way incentivised by\u00a0Ettington Park in any way. I simply love photographing weddings at beautiful venues that have lots to offer and that’s the reason why I’m writing this guide. I’ve shot weddings at hundreds of different venues around the country, but I’ve chosen to take the time to write an in-depth guide of this particular venue, so\u00a0that’s a statement in itself!! Here are some of the things I love about it.<\/p>\n

Morning preparations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"<\/p>\n

Firstly, there are certain benefits to getting married in a hotel. Having prep, ceremony and reception all in the one location can be such a time and stress saver on your wedding day! <\/span><\/p>\n

After you\u2019ve spent hours having your hair done, not having to step outside on a wet and windy day to get to your ceremony is definitely a good thing! At the end of the day, being able to flop straight into bed is a bonus. Your guests will have no reason not to be living it up on the dancefloor until the very last song! No waiting for a taxi here!<\/span><\/p>\n

The bridal suite in the hotel is a good size with great big windows to let in lots of light. This is ideal from a wedding photographers perspective as it really gives a flattering look to any photos I take. It means you\u2019ll look beautiful!<\/span><\/p>\n

The rooms are also large enough so that both bride and bridesmaids can get ready in the same room if they want to. It\u2019s nice to surround yourself with close friends whilst getting ready. Pop on some favourite tunes and have a fun and relaxed morning together! <\/span><\/p>\n

Alternatively, you could choose two rooms next to each other so that members of the bridal party can simply nip between them!<\/span><\/p>\n

Other rooms are located well away from the bridal suite so the guys can get themselves ready there. This is super handy to enable photographs of both Bride and groom getting ready. Something I’d normally need a second photographer for if you’re in different locations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ceremony Locations<\/strong><\/p>\n

So many options here!!!! I really don\u2019t know any other wedding venue that offers so much choice as Ettington Park does.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with indoor ceremonies. You have the south room or the library. Both rooms have window light, which I can\u2019t overstate the importance of when it comes to creating beautiful wedding photographs. The library\u2019s window allows more light on the bride and groom so is probably more favourable for photography, although it has a slightly smaller seating capacity than the South Room. <\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s also an old Norman chapel situated in the grounds where Ettington Park will arrange for a local vicar to conduct your ceremony. Alternatively, you could have a close family member or friend conduct it instead, making your ceremony even more personal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outdoor Ceremonies at Ettington Park<\/strong><\/p>\n

The orangery is stunning. Just so beautiful. The stone arches and Victorian gardens are the perfect settings for a dream open-air ceremony. Who wouldn’t want to get married here!!??<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a shaded spot next to the ancient chapel which is called the bell tower area. Again, this is a lovely space and a really unique and beautiful setting for your ceremony.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a huge fan of outdoor ceremonies as space and light will make your wedding photographs sing! Skin tones always look best in natural light! <\/span><\/p>\n

If it were my choice, I\u2019d opt for the bell tower on a sunny day. If it’s cloudy, I’d choose the orangery. All bases are covered at Ettington Park and each outdoor location can seat up to 96 people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Drinks Reception<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rain or shine, every space on offer is superb! The gardens and terrace area are perfect for those warm Summery days. There are also magnificent indoor rooms if the weather\u2019s not quite so good. The great drawing room and the library are wonderful spaces for guests to mingle and enjoy a drink. Both have huge windows and are full of that lovely natural window light I keep getting mentioning! Every space is inviting, ornate and full of character.<\/span><\/p>\n

Portrait Time<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sneaking off for 15 minutes of portraits at Ettington Park is a real joy. The grounds really are beautiful and there are so many areas to be used. It has lush gardens, Cotswold stone backgrounds, the chapel area to name a few. There’s loads of scope to create a whole range of beautiful photos of the two of you. Photos that you\u2019ll love forever.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wedding Breakfast<\/strong><\/p>\n

The wedding breakfast takes place in the long gallery. I absolutely love this room! It\u2019s rare that a wedding venue has so much variety from room to room so this venue is truly unique. The long gallery seats up to 96 guests for the wedding breakfast and is a fantastic space to enjoy dinner and speeches!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Food at Ettington Park Hotel<\/strong><\/p>\n

The food here is SO good! Ettington Park is a four red star hotel and this is one of the reasons. I\u2019ve overheard many a guest saying how excellent their meals were.<\/span><\/p>\n

After Dinner & into the Evening<\/strong><\/p>\n

The old library with its bar is the perfect mingling space before hitting the dance floor. <\/span><\/p>\n

At night, the Great Drawing room transforms into the most amazing evening reception room. The dancefloor is positioned at the far end leaving plenty of seating for those whose feet are feeling a little tired! This is another fantastic room oozing with character and it looks so good lit up at night! <\/span><\/p>\n

The long room can also be used for the evening reception as you can see from the fourth photo below.<\/span><\/p>\n

Post Wedding<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your guests can enjoy the spa in the hotel if they\u2019re feeling a little worse for wear the next day. But if they\u2019ve gone easy the night before, then they could head out to explore Shakespeare\u2019s Stratford. It’s a mere 5 miles away. <\/span><\/p>\n

Personally, I think it\u2019s nice for your guests to be able to make a long weekend of it all if they can. Ettington Park is also well situated for your guests to enjoy a post-wedding day out in the Cotswolds. Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are only a twenty-minute drive away. Just another reason why it’s one of my favourite Warwickshire wedding venues.<\/span><\/p>\n
