Nicola and Joe’s tipi garden wedding in Gloucestershire was definitely one of the highlights of last year! In short – a super couple, amazing weather, brilliant crowd – just a fantastic wedding!
Whilst there are lots of amazing wedding venues in Gloucestershire, the appeal of having a garden wedding at the house where you grew up is totally understandable. Firstly, the tipi that Nicola and Joe had organised really did look fantastic and secondly, the view from it across the Gloucestershire hills was a definite bonus! It was the perfect setting for a wedding and made for some lovely photos at sunset too. In fact, the whole day ran swimmingly and I’ll give a shout out to some of the brilliant suppliers beneath the photos below.
After the ceremony, we quickly visited Highnam Court for a few relaxed portraits. It’s an amazing Country House with some really beautiful gardens. I could certainly see see why Nicola and Joe wanted to go there and handily it just happened to be en-route to the reception. Well planned!
The evening in and around the tipi was particularly magical – tipi’s really do look amazing at night! I think everyone massively enjoyed the marshmallows toasted by the fire pits along with the home made Mulberry Gin. Yum. Afterwards, the awesome chip shop boys grabbed their guitars and put on a superb performance that ended the day on a high! Any band that gets your father sitting on the shoulders of your groomsmen by the end of the night has exceeded themselves in my view! I highly recommend them!
I massively enjoy weddings like these. Laid back, relaxed and oodles of fun. I’ll just finish off with a few words Nicola and Joe sent me after receiving their photos…
“Wow, the photos are AMAZING!! Thank you so, so much – we absolutely love them!!! 🙂 They capture the whole day brilliantly and bring it all back so vividly. The one of our two grandma’s inspecting their mulberry gin shot glasses is incredible. What a moment to capture and a special one for us. You really captured it all perfectly and we can’t thank you enough. We can’t wait to get some up on the wall!”
I doubt think I’ll ever tire of receiving lovely thank you messages like that! I’m always hoping that my couples are simply blown away by their photos, so words like these really are food for the soul of any wedding photographer. That Nicola and Joe went on to order a big fat wedding album made it pretty clear that they absolutely loved them!
Here are a selection of photos from their amazing day. A fun filled tipi garden wedding in Gloucestershire that I hope you’ll enjoy too!
