Where do I start with Georgie and Dan’s Kingscote Barn wedding!!? Stunning Cotswold wedding venue, check! An all-day party atmosphere, check! Most unexpected wedding reading ever, check!!! I’m still actually giggling from the thought of that reading – but more about that later!
When Georgie and Dan initially contacted me, they’d described their wedding as fun, relaxed and hoped for a big party. Music to my ears! And looking back at the day it was all that and more! I think it’s fair to say the whole feel of the wedding was a true reflection of Georgie and Dan’s personalities. Warm, friendly, full of smiles and love. I can only describe them as two people who everyone loves to be around. Needless to say, I instantly warmed to them and understood why they had such a great crowd of friends to celebrate the day with. They’re impossible not to like!!
So as I drove through the Cotswolds to the Kingscote Barn that morning I had pretty high expectations! And reflecting back on it all now, I honestly can’t think of how the day could have been any better!
Time to explain ‘that’ reading I suppose! Yes, that’s right, it was a poetic and dramatised version of the Brittany Spears classic ‘Toxic’!! Who would have thought! I think it surprised most of the audience but it proved a crowd favourite as it got a lot of laughter!! Just brilliantly read!! The good vibes continued with impromptu singing and dancing under the mistletoe during the drinks reception to tunes from the brilliant Skip Jacks Duo. Also a great moment!!
Before dinner, the fun carried on with some fairly brutal Christmas cracker pulling. Elation for some, bitter disappointment for others! But most importantly it means I’m now fully stocked up on pirate jokes for the year!! Arrrr!! And any wedding that ends in Fireworks and a bit of dance-floor limbo is top drawer in my books! Such a fun wedding from beginning to end!
It’s impossible to mention all the little highlights that made Georgie and Dan’s day so special, but hopefully, you get the idea of the kind of vibe that was going on! Super informal with great banter, dancing and entertainment – all in the magical setting of a very Christmassy Kingscote Barn. Best. Time. Ever.
So… time for some photographs!! But before I do I should just confirm in writing that this definitely WAS a December wedding! Honestly! I’m not lying! In fact, I’d say in terms of the light it rivalled any summer wedding! So lovely and bright! But see for yourself…
