Megan and Brad got engaged during a romantic weekend away at the Daffodil Hotel in the Lake District. They got in touch for an engagement shoot at the spot where Brad popped the question the year before. The shoreline of Grasmere Lake.
We started off at the Daffodil Hotel, and enjoyed a relaxed walk along the edge of Grasmere Lake, working our way to Rydal cave. It was a place that I’d clocked whilst doing an online recce for their shoot. There was just no way we could resist seeing what photos we could create there! Whilst the cave was super busy, with a bit of patience we managed to get some cool shots inside it. It was fun to explore it and nice to be able to give Megan and Brad something a little different from the session too.
Hats off to Megan and Brad who were absolute troopers and climbed all the way to the top of Loughrigg Fell towards the end of the shoot for sunset. We clocked up a few miles! Instead of red skies we were treated to mist and rain in typical Lake District style. Actually though, I love those shots way more because of the drama! Scroll down to see if you agree!
I offer shoots like this all year round, so if it’s something you’re interested in, I’d love to hear from you! It doesn’t really matter if you’re engaged or not. There are so many amazing spots in the Lakes for photos and where you can enjoy a romantic weekend away. Drop me a line if you’re heading there!
